Nomni Marketing (Liven Engage) FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about Nomni Marketing (Liven Engage), from setup and syncing to billing and compliance.

About the product

What is Nomni Marketing (Liven Engage)? It's the email, SMS and automation platform for Nomni venues. It's connected to Nomni POS, Nomni Loyalty and Brandollars, so your campaigns use real visit, spend and product data.

Who do I contact for help, billing or cancellations? Nomni. Message us in the chat, email support@nomni.ai or call 1300 445 483. We look after your account, setup, billing, plan changes and cancellations.

What can I send? Email campaigns (one-off and A/B split tests), automated journeys, sign-up forms and, with the add-on, SMS.

Is my data safe and separate from other businesses? Yes. Each brand has its own account, and only your users can access it. Turn on multi-factor authentication for every user, and never share your API key.

Setup

How long does setup take? Most venues are sending within one to two weeks. The longest step is usually adding DNS records for your sending domain.

Do I need to sync my customers manually? Only once. Click Sync Contacts after you first connect Nomni POS. After that, new and changed customers sync within minutes, and spend details update daily.

Will all my existing customers get my welcome email when I first sync? No. The first full sync and the daily update don't start automations.

Can I have more than one venue in one account? Yes. Connect from your head office and all stores under it sync into one account. Use Store Name or Store Id With Most Visits to target each venue.

Can I use my own domain for emails? Yes, and you should. See Set up and authenticate your sending domain.

Customers and data

Why is a customer missing? Usually they have no email, or an email with a typo. See Troubleshooting: customers aren't syncing.

Which customer details sync? Name, email, phone, birthday, member code, Nomni Loyalty points and tier, POS tags, visits, spend, stores and products, plus Brandollars and app consent if you use them. See Customer data that syncs.

Do POS customers' marketing preferences sync? No. Every customer with a valid email is added to All Contacts. Make sure you have permission before you email them.

Can I import contacts from another platform? Yes, from a CSV file. Only import people who agreed to receive marketing from you. See Import contacts from a CSV file.

What's the difference between Nomni Loyalty points and Brandollars? Reward Points is the customer's Nomni Loyalty points balance. Brandollars are prepaid credit customers buy (often with a bonus) and spend at your venue. Both sync to Liven Engage in separate fields.

How many contacts can I have? It depends on your plan. Contact us to check or change your limit.

Sending and compliance

Why are my emails going to spam? Usually the sending domain isn't authenticated, or the audience isn't engaged. See Troubleshooting: emails going to spam or not sending.

Do I need an unsubscribe link? Yes. Australian law requires consent, clear sender details and a working unsubscribe in every marketing message. The default footer includes your address and an unsubscribe link, so keep it.

Can I send SMS? Yes, as an add-on. Contact us to turn it on. SMS needs its own consent.

What happens when someone unsubscribes? They're marked Unsubscribed and won't receive campaigns sent to that list. If they use the "unsubscribe from all" option, they won't receive any of your marketing emails.
