Refunds to a different credit or debit card

To protect our users, we can't issue refunds to a different credit or debit card. Refunding to the original payment method is a critical security measure that ensures funds are returned to the rightful owner and minimizes the risk of fraudulent activity. Liven’s payment processor securely stores payment details in a non-editable format, ensuring that refunds are routed correctly. If your credit card or debit card number has changed but is linked to the same account used at the time of purchase, the refund will be processed to that account.

If the account you used to make your original purchase has been closed, we recommend you check with your banking institution or credit card company to make arrangements with them to receive your funds. Refunds to closed cards often succeed if the associated bank account remains open. If your card number has changed but is linked to the same account, the refund should still reach the account. They will be able to assist you with the transfer.

Alternative Refund Options

If refunding to the original payment method is not possible, Liven offers an alternative:

  • Liven Rewards Conversion: You can request to convert the refundable amount into Liven Rewards, which can be used at merchants that accept Liven. Note that bonus amounts are not included in this conversion.

FAQs

What happens if my card is expired or canceled?

Refunds are still processed to the original card. If the card is linked to an active bank account, the funds should reach that account. If the account is closed, contact your bank to arrange receipt of the funds.

Can I request a refund to a different card or bank account?

No. Refunds must go back to the original payment method for security reasons. If the original account is closed, you will need to work with your bank to retrieve the funds.

What are Liven Rewards, and how can I use them?

Liven Rewards are credits that can be used at merchants within the Liven app. They cannot be used to purchase Brandollar vouchers, and bonus amounts are not included in the conversion.
